Volunteer Your Way to Full-Time Employment
Can you do well by doing good? Volunteering for causes can be a great way to engage with your community and help others. It can also be a great way to fill out your resume, build your network — and even land full-time employment. As the New York Times notes in a recent story, “Without a Job, but on the Campaign Trail,” the current recession has inspired laid-off bankers, lawyers, accountants, real estate brokers and other high-ticket professionals to participate in political causes as a way to beat back depression and stay engaged.
