Cash for clunkers says ba-bye -- The cash for clunkers program, which was revived by a $2 billion lifeline earlier this month, will end Monday. The Car Allowance Rebate System or CARS program, as its officially known, has recorded more than 457,000 dealer transactions worth $1.9 billion in rebates, according to the Department of Transportation. Justice Dept. Shines Green Light on Oracle’s Sun Acquisition

Business software maker Oracle said Thursday it has received the Justice Department's approval to move forward with its $7.4 billion acquisition of former dot-com-era star Sun Microsystems. The deal still needs the go-ahead from the European Commission. Clearance by the Justice Department had been held up over questions about the licensing of Java.
